"For traditional country dining featuring exceptional fare in a grand
setting, don't pass up the Brandon Inn on Route 7 for fine American Continental
cuisine. From elegantly prepared appetizers and sophisticated entrees through
Austrian Chef/Owner Louis Pattis' divine desserts, no detail is overlooked.
The relaxed atmosphere is complemented by the friendly service. Seafood lovers
shouldn't miss the Inn's fresh seafood dishes. And leave room for dessert!!"

"If you have every considered lazing away a summer's day rocking on a
porch watching the world go by, the Brandon Inn is the perfect place. Slow,
easy, and gentle is its approach. The Inn is testimony to the fact that life
can still have its serene moments. Hustle, bustle, and hurry simply do not
exist at this famous old inn.
The Brandon Inn was built in 1786 by Jacob Simonds to house his wife, six
sons and twelve daughters and the Inn was run by Simonds until 1812. About
this time it became known as the Brandon House, passing through twelve different
owners until 1890- when many major renovations took place. There have been
a number of owners but the Inn still serves as a focal point of Brandon. The
Inn attracts visitors from far and wide.
The Brandon Inn offers guests a selection of thirty-five well appointed rooms
with private bath. The rooms are decorated in a mixture of old-fashioned and
antique furniture, each done differently. The huge Victorian parlors on the
main floor are accented with carved moldings and ornate pillars. There are
two gilded floor-to-ceiling mirrors and a circular love seat, as well as comfortable
seating for reading.
The American menu changes often; the dining room is open to the public for
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The small village of Brandon is in the heart near many of the state's best
attractions. Minutes away are lakes, covered bridges, Fort Ticonderoga, great
skiing, Wilson Castle, the Vermont Marble Exhibit, New England Maple Museum,
and the home of Brandon's most famous citizen, Stephen A. Douglas, Lincoln's
opponent in the famous debate."

"Facing the village green in lovely Brandon is this Queen Anne-style
brick inn that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The
Inn has been here since 1786.
The rooms at the Inn all come with private bath. There are king, queen, double,
and twin beds. The choice is yours. Each room is different and has a charm
of its own, perhaps created by a cozy easy chair for curling up with a book
or an intimate corner desk perfect for letter writing.
One's room is not the only place to relax. There are cheery, comfortable sitting
rooms on each floor, just right for watching television on a rainy day. The
main floor also offers various spots where you can relax: the main foyer,
for example, where one can enjoy a roaring fire in the winter and gentle breezes
in the summer. There are puzzles and chess and books.
The Inn has excellent facilities for weddings, meetings, and conferences.
The mirrored ballroom is perfect for an elegant reception.
The five acres of Inn grounds provide outdoor recreation. The swimming pool
is great, and the Neshobe River on the Inn's grounds is perfect for trout
fishing."

"Fortunately, I spent the following evening at the Brandon Inn, a very
sweet and elegant 1786 hostelery right on the village green in the heart of
downtown Brandon. I found the dining experience in both service and food to
be exquisite."
